About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) serves as a caregiver to patients during scheduled work periods, providing patient‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of an RN or LPN.

Responsibilities

• Serve as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period.
• Provide patient‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN/LPN supervision.
• Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
• Administer basic health care and medical treatments.
• Assist with basic daily living activities (dressing/undressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, etc.).
• Assist with meal preparation and dining needs.
• Address emotional and spiritual needs.
• Handle laundry.
• Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.
• Collect non‑invasive biological specimens from patients.
• Prepare patient treatment areas for use; prepare and clean medical equipment; dispose of biomedical waste per standards and policy.
• Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
• Maintain strong communication, customer service, multi‑tasking, and organizational skills daily.
• Provide one‑on‑one care to patients when necessary for safe provision of care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred (not required).
• Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• Obtain and maintain required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
• If working in North Dakota and not a CNA, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry after training/competency validation or within four months of initial employment.

Pay

Salary range: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour. Sign‑on bonus available for eligible applicants.

Schedule

Part‑time, 24 hours per week. Two 12‑hour night shifts per week; every other weekend and holiday commitment. Shift times: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am.
