Patient Care Technician - PCT CCHT - Dialysis

Overview

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Fresenius Medical Care, you will support and collaborate with Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide dialysis treatment to several patients at a time while maintaining the functionality of the clinic. This involves prepping and testing equipment, reviewing treatment sheets, and opening the clinic at 4 am for first shift.

Job Description

• Prepares and tests dialysis equipment.
• Reviews treatment sheets and prepares for dialysis sessions.
• Welcomes patients and reviews their wellbeing.
• Evaluates vascular access for patency and performs cannulation.
• Collects and records vital signs and weights.
• Initiates and monitors dialysis treatment.
• Ensures patient safety and proper disposal of treatment.
• Performs vascular access evaluations and obtains necessary laboratory tests.
• Monitors patient responses and discontinues treatment as needed.
• Trains other direct patient care staff as needed.
• Documents all patient interactions and treatment details accurately.
