About the Role
Provides safe and effective dialysis therapy as part of a healthcare team under supervision. Responsible for setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, maintaining a clean environment, and supporting quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in patient education on treatment and disease management.
- Evaluate vascular access, monitor vital signs, initiate, and terminate dialysis treatments.
- Record treatment data accurately, ensure safety alarms are active, and document all procedures.
- Monitor patient responses, perform interventions for complications, and report changes to registered nurses.
- Support infection control practices, prepare laboratory specimens, and assist with transitional care for new patients.
- Participate in staff training, maintain equipment, and ensure environmental safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Relevant state certification and licensure.
- Previous patient care experience preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, stand for extended periods, and work in a healthcare environment.
- Successful completion of dialysis training and CPR certification required.
