This role involves prepping and testing equipment, reviewing treatment sheets, and opening clinics early in the morning.
Job Description
Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) support and collaborate with RNs to provide dialysis treatment to multiple patients at a time. They are responsible for setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, preparing and testing equipment, and maintaining a safe and clean working environment. PCTs also educate patients on dialysis-related topics, monitor patients during treatment, and ensure proper documentation of patient care.
Success Profile
A successful PCT should have prior customer service, healthcare, and direct patient care experience. They should be able to develop deep relationships with patients and improve their quality of life. PCTs need strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
