This unit cares for patients recovering from strokes, seizures, and other neurological conditions while also supporting overflow patients from the Emergency Department and Operating Room. Responsibilities

• Provides patient related care tasks based on the principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in his/her independent unit
• Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation relative to the care delivered
• Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver
• Performs personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse
• Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year Required
• 6 months in acute care experience Preferred

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Certification Preferred
• Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT) - License Preferred

Schedule

• Full-time Night shift working with 3-12 hour shifts from 6:00 PM–6:30 AM
• Self-scheduling for shift and weekend coverage
• Scheduled workdays may vary, as there are no set or fixed days
• Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required
• Weekend shift differentials are offered, along with evening and night shift differentials where applicable
