This unit cares for patients recovering from strokes, seizures, and other neurological conditions while also supporting overflow patients from the Emergency Department and Operating Room. We are seeking a Patient Care Technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys helping others, and can effectively multitask while maintaining a positive attitude. Candidates with CNA certification, healthcare experience, or strong customer service backgrounds, including restaurant or hospitality experience, are encouraged to apply, as these skills often translate well to success in this role. Responsibilities
- Provides patient related care tasks based on the principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in his/her independent unit
- Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation relative to the care delivered
- Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver
- Performs personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse
- Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year Required
- 6 months in acute care experience Preferred
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Required
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Certification Preferred
- Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT) - License Preferred
Schedule
- Full-time Night shift working with 3-12 hour shifts from 6:00 PM–6:30 AM
- Self-scheduling for shift and weekend coverage
- Scheduled workdays may vary, as there are no set or fixed days
- Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required
- Weekend shift differentials are offered, along with evening and night shift differentials where applicable
