About the role

The Patient Care Technician II assists the nursing staff by performing assigned duties for patient and staff under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Duties include but are not limited to secretarial functions and NA II skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with patient care activities as directed by the nursing staff.
  • Performs secretarial functions including documentation, scheduling, and communication.
  • Provides support to the nursing team in maintaining a smooth workflow.
  • Ensures confidentiality of patient information and maintains patient care records accurately.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor and demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalency required.
  • Nurses Aide I certification listed with Division of Facility Services and Nurses Aide II certification by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Some understanding of medical terminology.
  • At least one year of experience in an acute care setting, either as a unit secretary or as a Nurses Aide I or Nurses Aide II.
  • Current AHA BLS certification required.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of age-specific patient care needs.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served on the nursing unit(s).
  • Must have the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements.
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor and uphold CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence in customer service.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule
