About the role
The Patient Care Tech I assists the nursing staff by performing assigned duties for patients and staff under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Duties include, but are not limited to, secretarial functions and some rehabilitation nursing skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care activities as directed by the nursing staff.
- Perform secretarial duties such as typing, filing, and answering phones.
- Provide basic rehabilitation nursing care as directed.
- Organize and maintain confidential records and patient care documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalency.
- Nurses Aide I certificate from the North Carolina Department of Facilities Services.
- One year of experience in an acute care setting, preferably as a unit secretary or Nurse Aide I.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills.
- Current BLS certification.
Qualifications
- Completion of third year in the AA Early College Program of a community college (transcripts required).
- Knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
- Ability to assess and interpret patient data.
- Compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
