About the Role

As a Patient Care Technician I or II, you will be an integral part of the healthcare team, assisting licensed clinicians in providing patient care and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide clear and timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations and changes, such as skin condition, vital signs, and mental status.
- Conduct constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment and de-escalating patients when necessary.
- Help patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, ambulating, and meals.
- Assist in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients using proper safety techniques.
- Perform patient safety checks and utilize fall prevention strategies.
- Take and record vital signs, measure and record patient weights and heights, and perform EKGs, POC tests, and bladder scanning.
- Collect, label, and prepare specimens for lab transport.
- Assist RNs/Licensed Independent Practitioners with treatments and procedures, including setting up equipment and providing emotional support to patients.
- Observe, measure, and record oral food and fluid intake, and manage tube feeding solutions.
- Perform ostomy care and empty/record output from various sources.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to patient needs, providing culturally and age-appropriate communication.
- Replenish patient and unit supplies and equipment, and keep current with hospital and unit changes.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school education or GED.
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of employment (for PCT I) or current Basic Life Support (for PCT II).
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English clearly and concisely.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
- For PCT II: Demonstrated competency attainment in the Patient Care Technician I level, minimum 800 hours of work experience as a PCA I, and prior inpatient/outpatient care experience or clinical care training.

Schedule
Weekends: One full weekend per month. Scheduled hours: 7:00-3:30pm, 3:00-11:30pm, 11:00-7:30am. Shift: 4 - Mixed Shift, 8 Hours.
Pay
Hiring Range: $15.00 - $25.82. Final offer may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
This position may have a signing bonus available. Eligibility will be confirmed during the interview process.
