About the role
The primary purpose of the Patient Care Technician (Certified) position is to deliver safe, quality patient/family focused care and services under the direction of a Professional Registered Nurse. The Patient Care Technician (Certified) is a member of a designated care team and collaborates with team members in achieving goals.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, quality patient/family focused care and services under the direction of a Professional Registered Nurse.
- Collaborate with team members in achieving goals.
- Provide care that is congruent with the patient/family developmental stage and cultural expectations.
Qualifications
- Certified as a Patient Care Technician by National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or equivalent.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to lift/move patients with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize the activities of multiple patients.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- CPR/BLS Certified.
Skills
- Phlebotomy.
- EKG.
- Any other skills and abilities needed.
