Patient Care Technician-Emergency Department

Sign-On Bonus: $3,000 for new hires. FTE: 0.90 (72 hours per pay period).

About the role

Our Emergency Department is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to join our fast-paced, highly skilled team. As a vital member of our ER, you will provide hands-on patient care, support clinical staff, and help ensure the safety and comfort of patients during critical moments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Perform vital signs, EKGs, blood glucose checks, and specimen collection.
• Support nurses and physicians with patient care procedures.
• Provide compassionate, respectful assistance with daily living activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized care environment.
• Document patient information accurately and promptly.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or currently and actively working towards completion of Diploma/GED.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 3 months from date of hire.

Preferred: Candidates who have successfully completed the CNA program and are active on the Iowa Direct Care Registry.

Schedule

Full-time nights, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am, 72 hours per pay period. Includes holiday rotation and every third weekend rotation.
