Patient Care Technician - Birth Center - PT
Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period. The PCT provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Key responsibilities include recording vital statistics, administering basic health care and medical treatments, assisting with daily living activities, cleaning patient living areas, collecting non-invasive biological specimens, preparing treatment areas, and performing clerical tasks.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
