Patient Care Technician

About the role

National Park Medical Center is a 163-bed full-service hospital seeking a Basic Patient Care Aide to join their team. The position is based in Hot Springs, AR.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording.
• Absolutely assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, and ambulation.
• Observes and promptly reports any abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
• Maintains a clean and stocked environment in patient rooms and common areas.
• Manages the tech desk and supports nursing/physician staff and overall department throughput.
• Documents care and activities according to unit standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned and participates in performance improvement and required education.

Requirements

• High School diploma preferred.
• SRNA or EMT preferred.
• BCLS required; Handle with Care preferred.

Qualifications

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
• Rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems.
• Effective English communication (read/write/speak).
• Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
