About the role
Instruction including hands-on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks such as reports, syllabus and lesson plan development. Prepare and/or maintain current course syllabi and ensure course is taught in accordance with the established syllabus. Assess student accomplishment on a regular basis and maintain records of attendance, grades, and progress. Direct supervision of students in a variety of clinical settings.
Responsibilities
- Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course.
- Work with other college areas such as Tutoring, Retention, etc. to help ensure student success.
- Recommend adequate laboratory facilities/equipment for assigned course.
- Attend relevant professional meetings and represent the College positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at local, state, and national levels.
- Maintain frequent communication with PCT program faculty (or course coordinators).
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- Associate degree (Nursing) with Registered Nurse (RN) license, or Diploma in nursing with Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license who works under the supervision of the primary instructor (RN).
- One (1) year of experience in long-term care caring for the elderly and/or the chronically ill of any age.
- Two (2) years of experience in the discipline also required.
- Active, unencumbered SC RN or LPN license.
- Current American Heart Association Provider CPR (Adult and Child).
- Must meet all requirements for clinical participation per clinical facility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching or training experience preferred but not required.
- At least two (2) years of recent practical experience with venipuncture and specimen collection and/or electrocardiogram in a clinical setting.
- Current American Heart Association Instructor CPR (Adult and Child).
