Responsibilities
- Initiates and completes procedures related to basic human, mental health and social needs
- Implements components of the plan of care
- Measures vitals signs
- Interprets cardiac monitoring strips
- Identifies and documents dysrhythmias
- Documents monitoring strips and reports information to the registered nurse
- Performs ECGs
- Performs venipuncture
- Performs capillary blood glucose testing
- Performs Unit Secretary duties
- Performs Patient Transport duties
- Performs Environment of Care duties
Requirements
- Other Successful completion of Nurses Aide/Medical Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation program or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing Care Course in a Registered Professional Nurse program
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- General Experience as a nursing assistant, medical assistant, monitor technician and/or unit secretary
- Preferred General Experience as a nursing assistant, medical assistant, monitor technician, phlebotomist and/or unit secretary - for Medical Telemetry
