Patient Care Tech - Vascular Surgical Acute Care 9C1

The Patient Care Technician provides a variety of indirect and direct care, including provision for patient's dependency needs such as nutrition, hygiene, safety and physical and psychological comfort measures, to patients and significant others, under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides indirect care to patients and significant others
• Performs direct care tasks as directed by licensed nursing staff
• Ensures patient safety and comfort
• Assists with patient hygiene and nutrition
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes to supervising nurse

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Florida CNA license
• Hospital PCT/CNA experience preferred
• Nursing students: currently enrolled in a Nursing program (ASN or BSN) and have completed Fundamentals of Nursing (unofficial transcript must be submitted with application)

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills
• Physical ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing
