Patient Care Tech - Seasonal Contract - Day Shift (16-Weeks)

About the Role

The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to delivery of patient care in assigned departments under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment; or
• Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam must meet all of the following:
  • Currently be enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN);
  • If enrolled, have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN;
  • Cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN;
• Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation. List of approved programs.

Employees hired without the above licensure and/or by years of experience only prior to 11/11/19 are grandfathered in and will have the option of obtaining the stipulated licensure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification (required).
