Responsibilities

  • Manage and assist with patient movement to and from medical units and outpatient waiting areas.
  • Provide continuum of care standards through safety screening, cardiac monitoring, and maintaining IV and oxygen rates as set by physician, nursing, or technical staff.
  • Assist technologists with room/exam/patient preparation, including the use of sterile (scrub, gown, and glove) and aseptic techniques.
  • May assist physicians, RN, and technologists after training and competency.
  • Answer telephones, file patient reports, and retrieve patient records for physicians, RN, or technologists as requested.
  • Demonstrate strong telephone etiquette and interpersonal/time management skills.
  • Apply medical terminology knowledge.
  • Location for assignments may change depending on business needs.

Since one-on-one patient care/interaction is frequent, critical thinking skills are essential to ensure patient safety. Clear communication skills are essential.

Requirements

  • State of Nevada EMT certification or a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification required.
  • Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia training within 90 days of hire.
  • Successful completion of Radiation Safety and Level II Magnetic Resonance safety training within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience providing the safe transportation and cardiac monitoring of patients preferred.
