About the Team
Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, and Diagnostic Services.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
- Observe patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurses or other medical staff.
- Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
- Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
- Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines.
- Assist patients with a range of motion and draw blood.
Requirements
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- Must be competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross-trained and cross-competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function).
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED (preferred).
- 2 years of experience in acute or long-term care (preferred).
- Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy (preferred).
- Currently enrolled in nursing school (preferred).
