Patient Care Tech - Oncology & Complex Care

Schedule

• 36 hours a week
• Rotating shifts: 7:00am – 7:30pm & 7:00pm – 7:30am
• Includes working every other weekend and holiday
• Initial training is during the day

About the role

Delivers direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse. Performs tasks that do not require nursing judgements or administration of medications. Duties include, but are not limited to: Phlebotomy and EKG. Is accountable for the patient care they deliver. Adheres to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center standards of care and practice.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• Medical background, mechanical aptitude, and manual dexterity preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Current BLS/CPR certification (First Aid training provided upon hire)
• Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise
• Completes population-specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service

Work Environment

• Office/Clinical setting. Exposure class I.
• Physical demands: Heavy work requiring standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying.

Pay

Pay Range: $17.25 - $25.00 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
