About the role
The Patient Care Tech position is available on our dynamic Med-Surg team at Piedmont Walton Hospital. This 24-bed unit cares for a diverse range of adult patients, including those recovering from orthopedic, general, bariatric, cardiac, and complex medical conditions.
Responsibilities
- Provides care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, demonstrating competency in treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy.
- Assists with bedside procedures, wound care, managing NGTs and chest tubes, administering blood transfusions, and caring for post-op, central line, and colostomy patients.
- May float to assist with other hospital needs, fostering well-rounded clinical growth and collaboration.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- No prior experience required, but 1 year of patient care experience is preferred.
- PREFERRED: Completion of a Patient Care Technician program.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
