Responsibilities

• Assist nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients.
• Assist with personal hygiene, take vital signs, and change bed linens.
• Serve and collect food trays; provide for between-meal nourishment.
• Clean, sterilize, store, and prepare other supplies.
• Apply knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.

Requirements

Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum experience: None required; preferred: 6 months acute care and/or previous clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a nursing assistant program.
• Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (American Red Cross or American Heart Association); if American Red Cross, must obtain American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification within 90 days of hire/transfer.

Skills

• Preferred: Prior basic experience performing clerical or customer service duties with prior HUC training/experience in a clinical setting.
• Ability to use computer‑driven patient care equipment.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
