PATIENT CARE TECH/CNA , POST PARTUM UNIT, PART-TIME DAYS

About the Role

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is a 170-bed acute care hospital offering services including 24/7 ER care, cardiology, oncology, labor and delivery, level II NICU, surgical and orthopedic services, and more. This part-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) opportunity involves 24 hours per week with a convenient day shift schedule and full benefits.

This dynamic individual will provide direct patient care to high-risk patients and indirect patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. The role includes assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing personal care, emotional support, and performing complex clinical skills under RN supervision. The CNA remains in constant attendance with the patient, ensuring personal care, comfort, and a safe, clean environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete bedside shift report in the patient’s room at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Ensure the patient is provided with names and contact numbers for members of the care team on the communication board every shift.
• Meet with the supervising RN at the beginning of each shift to receive delegation of tasks.
• Involve the patient and family in care, addressing psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population-specific, and diversity needs.
• Provide safe, competent nursing care in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current CNA certification in the state of Nevada required.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certificate required.
