Employee may be required to float to the other facility within Southwest Health Rancho Springs and Inland Valley Hospital based on operational needs, with appropriate orientation and competency validation provided.
About the role
The Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care and essential clinical support to the PACU team at Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital in Wildomar, California, or Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital in Murrieta, California.
- Assists with monitoring vital signs and observing cardiac rhythms
- Supports patient transport, safety measures, and comfort during the recovery phase
- Documents care accurately in the electronic medical record
- Recognizes and reports changes in patient condition
- Supports emergency response as needed
- Helps maintain a safe, well-stocked, and efficient PACU environment
- Promotes high-quality post-operative recovery
About the facilities
Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital (Wildomar, CA): A licensed 122-bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission. It is Southwest Riverside County's only designated Trauma Center and a county-designated Paramedic Base Station. The hospital performs more than 4,000 surgeries annually and averages 4,000 Emergency Department visits per month. Features include a Bariatric Weight-Loss Surgery Center of Excellence and the region’s only Total Joint Center.
Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital (Murrieta, CA): A 120-bed acute-care hospital offering the region's only Pediatric Emergency Services team (for children 14 and under) provided by board-certified Rady Children’s emergency medicine physicians. It also provides the area's only OB/Emergency Department program, giving expectant mothers 24/7 on-site access to OB/GYN physician coverage. The Childbirth Center is the largest in the region, featuring spacious family-friendly private suites, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is operated by Rady Children’s.
Requirements
- Current California Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate or California EMT certification
- BLS certification (must be through the American Heart Association)
- Basic dysrhythmia certification (preferred) or obtained within 6 months of hire
- Six (6) months’ experience working as an EMT/CNA preferred
