About the role
The Patient Care Tech (PCT) is a member of the patient care services team responsible for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The PCT works under the supervision of a licensed nurse, receiving tasks based on patient needs, PCT skill levels, and abilities.
Responsibilities
- Provides care for adolescent, adult, or geriatric patients.
- Works under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Delegates tasks based on patient needs, PCT skill level, and abilities.
- Moves or lifts patients using appropriate equipment and techniques taught through the Safe Lift program.
Requirements
- Preferred High School Diploma Completion of High School or GED required.
- Less than 2 years Successful completion of Certified or Geriatric Nursing Assistant course required.
- Previous Certified or Geriatric Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
- CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider
Specific Requirements
- Carroll Hospital Center is a minimal-lift facility.
- Moving or lifting patients must be done with appropriate equipment and/or techniques taught through the Safe Lift program.
- Appropriate equipment or techniques must be used.
