PATIENT CARE TECH

About the role

The Patient Care Tech (PCT) is a member of the patient care services team responsible for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The PCT works under the supervision of a licensed nurse, receiving tasks based on patient needs, PCT skill levels, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for adolescent, adult, or geriatric patients.
• Works under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Delegates tasks based on patient needs, PCT skill level, and abilities.
• Moves or lifts patients using appropriate equipment and techniques taught through the Safe Lift program.

Requirements

• Preferred High School Diploma Completion of High School or GED required.
• Less than 2 years Successful completion of Certified or Geriatric Nursing Assistant course required.
• Previous Certified or Geriatric Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
• CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
• CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider

Specific Requirements

• Carroll Hospital Center is a minimal-lift facility.
• Moving or lifting patients must be done with appropriate equipment and/or techniques taught through the Safe Lift program.
• Appropriate equipment or techniques must be used.
