Patient Care Tech
About the Role
As our Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, you will deliver essential direct patient care under the supervision of our clinical team. Leveraging your knowledge of basic patient care principles and medical terminology, you will perform a range of daily duties to support patient well-being and assist the nursing team.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care, mobility, and feeding.
- Monitor and document vital signs and patient observations.
- Maintain a therapeutic and organized patient environment.
- Assist the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments, and procedures as requested.
- Support patient admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
- Prepare patients and equipment, and retrieve necessary supplies.
- Document clinically relevant findings in the patient's record according to hospital protocols.
- Prepare patients for transportation to other departments or areas as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic certification.
- Previous military medic experience.
- Seeking a degree in nursing or previous healthcare experience.
