Job Qualifications
- Education: Must complete CCH PCT education.
- Licensure: none required.
- Experience: One year healthcare experience preferred.
- Certifications required: See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Policy and Certifications/Education Requirements Policy.
Essential Functions
- Follows the plan of care, assists with interventions to meet the goals of the plan.
- Assists with patient needs and department needs throughout the organization, if needed, demonstrating fiscal responsibility, accountability, time management and prioritization skills.
- Provide service excellence to all customers and positive interpersonal relations with all team members.
- Supervise patients care without distractions. Maintain a safe environment for patients.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Alerting nurses and clinical staff when patients need help or interventions.
- Auxiliary patient transportation to and from inpatient beds and other areas like therapy, surgery or radiology or to other facilities.
- Transport patients to other facilities as a driver or a rider as needed.
- Refrain from performing any unauthorized actions.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Active listening and communication of needs and concerns.
- Ability to observe situations. Ability to accurately document patient behaviors.
- Complete timely documentation in appropriate record.
- Ability to handle emotionally distressing situations.
- Professional appearance and hygiene. Ability to act calmly under pressure.
- Ability to be on call, to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Provide coverage to other CCH service lines as needed i.e. MedSurg, ICU, Maternal Child, Inpatient BHS, Radiology, Laundry and EVS.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- The ability to maintain continuing education requirements and all certifications and licenses as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, CPI, CPR).
- The ability to develop positive interaction with patients, patient families, physicians, and staff in order to effectively care for the patients.
- The ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
- Analytical and reasoning skills with a high level of mental concentration and memory.
- The ability to speak clearly to communicate and interact positively with patients, patient families, physicians, and staff.
- The ability to demonstrate knowledge of developmental stages and apply developmental theories/concepts when planning and implementing care for the appropriate age of the patient.
- The ability to maintain the appropriate level of knowledge and skills.
- Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in the following age groups: Infant (Neonate to Age 1), Pediatric (Age 1-11), Adolescent (12-18), Adult (19-64), Geriatric (Age 65 and older).
