Patient Care Specialist Ortho (Full Time) - 6026
The St. Mary's Medical Center is currently seeking a Full Time Patient Care Specialist for its Orthopedic Unit. The Patient Care Specialist assists in providing patient care activities for which employee has been prepared and in conformance with Medical Center policy and procedures, functions under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse.
About the role
The Patient Care Specialist will work in the Orthopedic Unit, assisting with patient care activities as directed by a Registered Nurse. This position requires adherence to medical center policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities
- Monitor patient condition and report changes to RN
- Administer medications as ordered by the physician
- Provide emotional support to patients and families
- Ensure patient comfort and safety
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
