About the role

A Patient Care Specialist 1 (PCS1-Benefits Counselor) contributes to AHF by embodying our commitment to excellence in patient care and operational efficiency. Through cross-functionality, PCS1s play a pivotal role in ensuring that our healthcare center operates seamlessly and that our patients receive the best client experience and the highest standard of care.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the Healthcare Center team to enroll newly diagnosed patients, patients lost to care, and clients currently in care by completing an eligibility screening assessment
• Support the client's ability to maintain better/improve their health status so they can work to achieve their healthcare goals, including viral load suppression and appointment adherence
• Ensure clients are appropriately screened for Ryan White Eligibility under all other pertinent third-party benefits programs
• Pull up patient charts and medical records with attention to detail to ensure a smooth flow of patients and allow physicians to provide treatment efficiently
• Seamlessly transition between performing duties related to processing patient referrals, identifying and verifying insurance coverage, and performing front office administrative duties
• Actively participate in cross-functional rotations and promote adaptability across multiple healthcare center functions

• Versatile skill set with dedication to seamlessly transitioning between administrative and front office roles
• Ability to work as part of a close-knit team and go above and beyond to meet the needs of patients
• Commitment to collaborating with other AHF employees and departments
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
• Accountability to multiple leaders in a collaborative organizational structure
