General Summary

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill, are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures, and nursing philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to a specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
• Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
• Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
• Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Consult with physicians to decide on the best treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
• Demonstrate quality, safe, and effective patient care.
• Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
• Demonstrate standards of excellence, including practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork, and integrity.
• Demonstrate understanding and execute quality and performance improvement plans.
• Participate in decision-making and take actions based on ethical principles.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
• Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Required Education, Credentials, and Experience

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
• Credential(s): Registered Nurse; Basic Life Support; Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification; *ACLS / PALS may be required per manager’s direction and timeframe.
• Experience: Required: Experience in critical care.

Preferred Education, Credentials, and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Credential(s): Certification related to the position, if applicable; Trauma Nursing Core Course Certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.

Pay

SALARY RANGE: $37.98 - $58.87 HOURLY

Schedule

Full Time, 72 Hours
Shift: Day/Evening, 12pm - 12am
