About the role

The G71 Women’s Health Unit supports patients undergoing various surgeries, including total laparoscopic hysterectomies, vaginal hysterectomies, TRAM flap reconstruction and many others. This team also sees many high-risk moms, breast cancer patients and transgender patients, creating a unique and diverse population.

Responsibilities

  • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
  • Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
  • Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience.
  • Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross within new hire period.
  • Nursing students must obtain prior to hire.
  • Competencies in both the professional, technical and clinical knowledge domains must be demonstrated in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at minimum junior high level.

Qualifications

Skills

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.

Pay

Pay Range Minimum hourly: $18.25 Maximum hourly: $24.95

Schedule

Part-time days from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
