About the role

The Patient Care Associate (PCA) provides age-specific, patient-centered care. As a member of the patient care team, the PCA takes direction from the RN for patient care assignments and must successfully pass an AHCA Level 2 screening for this position (details).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
• Applies knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions.
• Reads and writes in English.

Requirements

• GED or High School Diploma.
• Active CNA license from the State of Florida.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Experience

• Required: Less than one year of experience providing patient care.
• Preferred: At least one year providing patient care.
