About the Role

A Patient Care Associate serves as a technical assistant to nursing on the unit whose primary function is to assist with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete. The nursing assistant works as part of the nursing team on a unit and throughout the hospital to ensure that each and every patient and guest to the hospital has their needs met, whether that need is physical, spiritual, or educational.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic patient care and monitoring.
  • Support patient hygiene needs.
  • Ensure care is complete and documented.
  • Work as part of the nursing team to meet patient and guest needs, including physical, spiritual, or educational.
  • Utilize Epic to chart and monitor tasks.
  • Float to another unit/department when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must complete 12 hours of college credit to promote to the next level.

Skills

  • Ability to read, write, understand, and follow instructions.
  • Basic addition and subtraction skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to effectively relate to patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
  • Proficiency in using Epic for charting and task monitoring.

Schedule

  • Shift: Day
  • Working Hours: 0630-1900
  • Hours per pay period: 72.00 hours bi-weekly
