Patient Care Associate: M2 - 36hrs/week, Nights

About the role

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) works under the direction of the Registered Nurse in the Orthopedics & Spine Unit‑M2, providing direct patient care and support.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient data
• Complete personal care of the patient
• Perform point of care testing such as whole blood glucose
• Turn, position, and/or mobilize patients
• Assist with caring for the needs of assigned patients with a focus on progress toward discharge, including during transitions within the acute care stay
• Perform technical procedures such as blood draw and electrocardiography
• Promote availability of resources for patient care through collaboration with Materiel’s Coordinators for use, stocking, and storage of supplies
• Participate in the creation and maintenance of a clean, orderly, and safe environment of care
• Provide activity companion service for patients requiring 1:1 observation
• Assist in the delivery of patient care provided by the caregiving team, ensuring competent, compassionate care is uniformly provided

Pay

Salary range: $41,923.00 – $54,500.00
