About the role
The Center for Operative Care (CPC) is a 33-bed unit where the Patient Care Associate (PCA) supports the multidisciplinary healthcare team in providing safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intake, and output measurements accurately and within established timeframes and/or as requested
- Completes all required documentation in the medical record
- Interacts effectively with patients and families
- Affords assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
- Affords assistance with turning, repositioning, and transferring between bed and wheelchair as needed
- Llistens to patient concerns and reports changes or concerns to nursing staff promptly
Requirements
- Experience working in patient care/elder care: 0-1 years preferred
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred, Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification) preferred, Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (Massachusetts) preferred, Nursing Assistant (LNA – Massachusetts) preferred
Skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong patient/customer service skills
- Proficient computer skills and ability to navigate electronic medical records efficiently

Pay
$20.58 - $26.58/Hourly Grade 3
Schedule
- Schedule Days: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM / 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Evenings: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM / 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Mandatory weekend shifts every month
- Rotating holiday schedule
