About the role

As a Patient Care Assistant (HUC/Nursing Assistant), you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist in the delivery of patient care including personal hygiene and daily activities, transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering/stocking of supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate communications and procedures for the nursing unit
  • Process electronic orders and assemble patient’s charts and other necessities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent HS Diploma in progress and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
  • Equivalent work experience in lieu of HS diploma or equivalent may be considered
  • Current BLS – American Heart Association or BLS – American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills with a customer-service orientation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computers skills or the ability to achieve proficiency within 3 months
  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with patients, visitors, and co-workers
  • Set priorities and manage time effectively

Qualifications

  • CNA experience
  • HUC or unit clerk experience
  • Microsoft office experience
  • Prior experience in acute care or hospital setting
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
  • Knowledge of pre and post-op surgical/orthopedic and general medical patients
  • Knowledge and care in the use of all specialized orthopedic equipment
  • Knowledge of routine order sets in Epic

Pay

Commensurate with experience

Schedule

20 hrs weekly; 0.5 FTE; Days (7:00am- 3:30pm) & Evenings (3:00 pm -11:30pm) with every other weekend rotation.
