Patient Care Nursing Assistant - Women's Health
About the Role

This full-time 3rd shift position on G71, a Women’s Health Unit, provides care to patients undergoing procedures such as total abdominal/robotic laparoscopic hysterectomies, vaginal hysterectomies, anterior/posterior repairs, vulvectomies, mastectomies with tissue expanders, mastectomies with DIEP flap reconstruction, TRAM flap reconstruction, latissimus dorsi flaps, and plastic surgery female flap reconstruction. The unit also cares for a small population of postpartum patients with high-risk babies.
Schedule
This is a full-time 3rd shift position, with working hours from 7:00pm to 7:00am.
Responsibilities
- Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, including vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices, and removing urinary Foley catheters.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to an RN.
- Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (certification must be obtained during the new hire period if not already held).
- Nursing students are required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) prior to hire.
- Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA).
Physical Requirements
- Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination, and involves extensive standing and walking.
- Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical demand requirements exceed those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay
The pay range for new hires is $18.25 to $24.95 per hour. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. This range does not include applicable pay practices such as shift differentials or overtime, nor does it reflect the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package, including healthcare, dental, vision benefits, and retirement savings account contributions.
