Patient Care Assistant, Physical Rehab

Position Summary

The Patient Care Assistant under direct supervision of licensed personnel is responsible for performing activities of daily living for patients and assisting with unit activities that support patient care in the Rehab department at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. The role facilitates a safe, clean working environment and contributes to the health and safety of patients.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

• Perform activities of daily living for patients
• Assist with unit activities supporting patient care
• Facilitate a safe, clean working environment
• Contribute to the health and safety of patients

Minimum Requirements

• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistants with 3 years of experience in an acute care facility or 5 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or sub-acute setting or Nursing students actively enrolled in a nursing program who have completed the first semester of the nursing program
• High school diploma or equivalency
• A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) certification is required
