Job Description

The PCA is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program. They utilize customer service skills when greeting patients and visitors and answering telephones. They demonstrate the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel. The PCA provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN. They assist patients with activities of daily living, provide for personal care, comfort, and assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma / GED
  • Specialized Knowledge: Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
  • Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
  • General computer skills and applications
  • Customer service experience
