Patient Care Assistant (Nursing Assistant) - MICU

About the role

As a Patient Care Assistant (Nursing Assistant), you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist in the delivery of patient care including personal hygiene and daily activities, transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering/stocking of supplies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate communications and procedures for the nursing unit
• Process electronic orders
• Assemble patient’s charts and other necessities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• High school diploma in progress and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
• Equivalent work experience in lieu of HS diploma or equivalent may be considered
• Current BLS - American Heart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills with a customer-service orientation
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Basic computers skills or the ability to achieve proficiency within 3 months
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Qualifications

• CNA experience
• HUC or unit clerk experience
• Microsoft office experience
• Prior experience in acute care or hospital setting
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
• Knowledge of pre and post-op surgical/orthopedic and general medical patients
• Knowledge and care in the use of all specialized orthopedic equipment
• Knowledge of routine order sets in Epic

0.6 FT. Day. 12-hour shifts. (7Am-7:30pm). Includes every third weekend rotation.
