Patient Care Assistant (CNA)
About the Role
Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine. The system includes Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston, Bridgton Hospital, Rumford Hospital, and the Maine College of Health Professions. The Patient Care Assistant role supports patient care under the direction of Registered Nurses.
Responsibilities
- Assists patients with activities of daily living.
- Provides basic nursing care to all patients.
- Helps maintain a safe environment under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with state-approved certification.
- Current Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Current EKG certification preferred.
- Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
Pay
Central Maine Medical Center offers a competitive compensation range of $23.00 to $26.75 per hour. The exact starting pay will be determined based on skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
