Patient Care Assistant III

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical tasks as delegated by the RN, including EKGs, phlebotomy, ostomy care, and obtaining urine specimens from Foley catheters.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and act as a clinical expert on the unit.
• Lead communication, foster collaboration, and proactively solve problems.
• Mentor and precept new staff, support onboarding, and participate in unit councils, committees, and improvement initiatives.
• Manage scheduling and patient workloads in partnership with leadership.
• Ensure patient and unit safety, identify and address safety hazards, and implement solutions.
• Provide patient comfort and hygiene, exemplify world-class patient experience, and model best practices for staff.
• Communicate unit and network updates to patients and families, and lead process changes.
• Apply emotional intelligence in all interactions.

Qualifications

• 3+ Years of Experience Required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and EMR systems preferred.

Education

• A High School Diploma required.

Experience

• 3+ Years of Experience Required.

Licenses & Certifications

• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Required.
