  • Days: 7am–3pm, 7am–7pm
  • Nights: 7pm–7am, 11pm–7am
  • Mandatory weekend shifts every month

About the role

Phillips 22 is a 19-bed adult unit specializing in Gynecology Oncology and General Surgery. Ideal applicants seeking full-time (36–40 hours) employment will be strongly considered for an interview. Gap-year medical students with clinical experience are welcomed to apply to this permanent position.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient care–related duties and clinical functions as assigned, including but not limited to: taking and documenting point-of-care vital signs, EKGs, bathing and other sanitary needs, transferring and assisting with ambulation, 1:1 patient observation for safety, and phlebotomy.
  • Assists RNs and physicians with exams and treatments as required.
  • Completes all documentation (height, weight, intake/output, blood glucose results) in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Assists patients with food tray setup, eating, and feeding as needed.
  • Ensures patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and cleaned appropriately.
  • Retrieves, sets up, cleans, and reports malfunctioning equipment per organizational policy.
  • Assists with admitting and discharging patients.
  • Facilitates orientation of new PCA team members as directed.
  • Interacts effectively with patients, visitors, and care team members.
  • Communicates timely with nursing staff regarding patient care and condition.
  • Fosters a positive, collaborative team environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred).
  • Certified Medical Assistant (preferred).
  • Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (Massachusetts) (preferred).
  • Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA – New Hampshire) (preferred).
  • 1–2 years of experience working in patient care or elder care (preferred).
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong patient/customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Proficient computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records.

$20.58 – $26.58/hour (Grade 3).
