Patient Care Assistant- General Resource Team (Float Pool)
About the role
The Patient Care Assistant – General Resource Team (Float Pool) position works under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist in delivery of patient care including personal hygiene and daily activities, transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering/stocking of supplies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of patient care including personal hygiene and daily activities
- Transport patients and equipment
- Set up and maintain patient rooms
- Reorder and stock supplies
- Coordinate communications and procedures for the nursing unit
- Process electronic orders
- Assemble patient’s charts and other necessities
Requirements
- Must have one of the following:
- A High school diploma or equivalent
- In progress HS Diploma and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
- Equivalent work experience in lieu of HS diploma or equivalent may be considered
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- CNA experience
- HUC or unit clerk experience
- Microsoft office experience
- Prior experience in acute care or hospital setting
