PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT - FULL TIME

JOB SUMMARY

Assists nursing and center personnel in pre-op and recovery include bed making, stocking linen and removing soiled linen, removing trash and sharps containers, cleaning up spills, escorting patients to their transportation, taking vital signs, stocking, cleaning and limited clerical work.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists nursing personnel in all areas of the GI Unit areas as directed by R.N.
• Assists in the admission process as directed by the R.N. such as helping patients dress and taking vital signs.
• Assists in the discharge process by assisting patients to dress, and/or escorting to their mode of transportation.
• Cleans stretchers and all patient contact items between patients as well as other light housekeeping duties as required.
• Demonstrates understanding of unit patient flow by ensuring efficient and safe movement and placement of stretchers throughout unit.
• Clerical work as requested by the R.N.
• Restocks supplies in the Pre-op/PACU areas
• Distribution of linen and ordering as directed.

Requirements

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent
• Licenses/Certifications: Current CPR Certification
• Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years hospital or surgery center experience
