Job Summary
Provides direct patient care by assisting patients with changing linens, ambulation, and transport. Maintains a clean and orderly patient care environment. Assists during patient examinations and procedures. Obtains and records patient vital signs, provides dressing assistance and reports results and observations.
Required Skills
- Knows and adheres to policies of the Center and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
- Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for peri-operative nursing care according to accepted standards.
- Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge in aseptic technique.
- Demonstrates ability to understand the unique needs of each age group of the patient population.
- Follows OSHA and other standards for protection against blood borne pathogens.
- Sets goals for personal and professional development.
- Uses good body mechanics and aseptic technique.
- Remains calm and functions as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations.
- Able to take vital signs and apply V/S monitors and documents appropriately.
- Informs Manager of applicable day-to-day situations.
- Follows employee health and other personnel and staffing policies.
