Patient Care Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assists, supports, and provides direct care to patients under the direction of the licensed nurse.
• Assists with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, and ambulation.
• Obtains vital signs, performs EKG, phlebotomy, and blood glucose testing.
• Documents and reports results to licensed nurse.
• Provides a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Performs clerical functions including initiating, directing, and receiving telephone calls.
• Prepares, prints, and scans various patient reports and medical record information for internal and external departments and facilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire (preferred).
• Current EKG certification upon hire (preferred).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office (preferred).
• Current CNA license in the state of Rhode Island.
• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.

Schedule

32 hours per week, 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM (Evenings)
