Typical Hours
The hours of operation for the Rheumatology clinic are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm. Your primary schedule will be during those hours, with periodic need to work outside your schedule to serve our patients.
Responsibilities
- Ensures efficient flow of patients through the practice by facilitating examinations and treatment of patients while exhibiting exceptional customer service.
- Obtains and records patients vital signs, recent hospitalizations/tests, pharmacy information, and other updated health information prior to the patient seeing the physician.
- Documents patient care and completes EMR tasks accurately and timely.
- Ensures effective patient communication and efficient patient care delivery.
- Aids patients, families, and physicians to resolve patient related issues.
- Works and communicates effectively with all providers.
- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms; stocks assigned areas and ensures adequate levels of supplies are maintained; checks and completes required logs and equipment such as refrigerator logs and other required checks.
- Performs clerical duties such as greeting patients; registration; scheduling; and answering phones.
- Maintains medical records; distributes reports and correspondence; files, photocopies, etc.
- Collaborates with members of the health care team to assist in obtaining outside records prior to or during clinic visit as delegated by the medical assistant, RN, or physician.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and acute care is helpful.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- CNA Certificate helpful.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic office skills, patient centered mindset, excellent time management and organization skills; ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment.
