About the Role
The Patient Care Assistant assists the unit in patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and bathing patients
- Positioning, re-positioning, and transporting patients
- Stocking shelves and cleaning equipment
- Assisting with dietary tasks
- Performing EKGs and Glucometer POC
- Maintaining competency in Glucometer and EKG
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training preferred
- Previous receptionist or hospital unit secretarial experience preferred
- CNA Certification preferred
- Current BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire (must be current prior to being released from Orientation status)
- Certificate of Completion of a formal program in Conflict resolution, de-escalation, and physical intervention techniques (e.g., MOAB, CPI, or equivalent) required on hire or within 90 days of hire
