Patient Care Aide - Cardiology II 3W - FT - 1st Shift
About the Role
The Patient Care Aide (PCA) works under the direction of the RN/LPN, providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The PCA must be able to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, organize and prioritize multiple tasks, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities
- Provides basic nursing care within the PCA scope of practice, addressing psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs.
- Performs patient care considering age-specific standards.
- Assists in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
- Explains care procedures to patients and families within scope of practice and answers related questions.
- Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and the ability to function under stressful situations.
- Responds to patient emergencies or physically distressful situations.
- Ensures documentation meets current standards and policies.
- Assumes accountability for appropriate utilization of resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the PCA’s scope of practice.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED completion.
- BLS certification required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
