Patient Care Aide - 5NE Medical Unit - FT - 3rd Shift
About the role
The Patient Care Aide(PCA) works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Patient Care Aide include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards.
Responsibilities
- Provides basic nursing care to patients within the Patient Care Aide scope of practice that includes actions that meet psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs.
- Aids in admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
- Answers questions and explains care to patients and families within the scope of practice.
- Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and the ability to function under stressful situations.
- Responds to emergencies or physically distressful situations involving patients.
- Documents care according to current standards and policies.
- Utilizes resources appropriately.
Requirements
- High School/GED completion.
- BLS certification required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
Qualifications
- Ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
- Organize, set priorities, and manage multiple priorities.
- Adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
